Time for Puppets is a Puppet Show Theater Company working in partner with Escondido Children’s Museum to spread the message to children about the importance of being environmentally conscious and doing their part to ensure that we take care of our natural resources for future generations.

We want to make recycling and conserving the “cool” thing to do in the eyes of our youth. This is an original production written, produced, directed, narrated and acted by Time for Puppets. The faithful puppeteers and stage crew make it all possible.

Here is what people have to say about the puppet show outreach:

Los Ninos Head Start had a very special day on May 20th. Kelly O'Neil and her wonderful co-workers presented a puppet show that was not only educational, but a delightful comedy that kept our children laughing, and and entertained.  It was also enjoyed by our teachers and other staff .  I would recommend this performance to all of our other local Head Starts.  It educates our children  on the importance of  recycling!!  Kudos to all of you and keep up the great job you are doing.

Programs at the Escondido Children's Museum

The Second Saturdays Program at the Escondido Children's Museum offers added value to visitors with a guided, hands-on activity on a special theme. Museum volunteers work with diverse guest-educators to create truly unique learning experiences. We encourage our visitors to venture 1.5 blocks south to participate in Downtown Escondido’s Artwalk on the same days…with special events every month. (www.downtownescondido.com)

Mundo Lindo

Mundo Lindo (Spanish for "Beautiful World") is a series of free weekly creativity classes for 4th and 5th grade children from the low-income population of Escondido. Created and taught by professional artist Jane LaFazio, Mundo Lindo is funded by The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation and hosted/supported by the Escondido Children’s Museum. Each lesson is based on the museum’s unique exhibits which explore natural and social science. Jane guides the kids in discovering the joy and power of creativity through hands-on projects as they learn art skills and problem-solving.

Parents can register now, if there is space available. Choose either the Tuesday or Thursday classes, both run from 3:30-5:30 pm. There is a limit of 15 children per class, but registered participants may attend consecutive sessions. Participation is completely free, thanks to the Picerne Foundation!

Children may enroll anytime during the session, as long as there is space available. They must be in the 4th or 5th grade, low-income, and residents of Escondido. Call the museum for more information at 760-739-9513 and ask for Kelly.

Follow along at the Mundo Lindo Blog where Jane posts photos of the kids and their projects!
